Sanford (Sandy) Goldfine has 38 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant and has become one of the foremost accounting professionals in the fields of real estate and construction. His experience in these areas includes financing, acquisitions, management, syndication and sales of real estate, and special consulting on bond underwriting. He has performed investigation engagements relating to the above areas such as a pre-construction cost analysis, rent control, and valuation. Mr. Goldfine has testified as an expert witness in cases involving business valuations, bankruptcy, divorce, business liquidation, partnership and stockholder disputes, real estate development and real estate management.
A 1968 graduation of Temple University, Mr. Goldfine received a B.S. degree in Management. He continued his education by taking graduate courses in Accounting and Taxation at Temple University from 1969 to 1971. Mr. Goldfine worked as a supervisor with Grant Thornton, a national accounting firm, for five years and served as an in charge accountant on engagements mainly involving real estate and construction. He was deemed a national specialist in HUD audits, including cost certifications and pre-construction analysis.
Founded in 1973, S. D. Goldfine & Company specialized in engagements with industries such as real estate management, real estate development, not-for-profit, wholesalers, retailers and construction. The Firm offered a comprehensive range of services in accounting and auditing, tax, management advisory, systems, regulatory reporting to agencies, and assistance to counsel in legal matters. Mr. Goldfine has obtained the qualifications to participate in HUD-related engagements. The Firm was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants “AICPA”, AICPA Private Companies Practice Section, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants “PICPA”, and successfully completed its seventh Peer Review in October 2001. The Firm had been performing Peer Reviews under the direction of the AICPA since 1980, for firms that range in size from 2 to 30 (approved for special concentration in construction, real estate development, Employee Benefit Plans, and not-for-profit firms).
In 2001 Mr. Goldfine merged S.D. Goldfine & Company into Morison Cogen LLP, where he was a Principal. As of September 1, 2006, Mr. Goldfine merged into Clairmont Paciello &Co.,P.C., where he is Vice President.
Mr. Goldfine has conducted numerous seminars, and he is an active member of several committees and associations such as the Temple University Owl Club, Temple University Athletic Advisory Committee, National Conference of CPA Practitioners “NCCPAP”, Pennsylvania Institute of CPA’s and Temple Brith Achim. He participates in minimum of 40 hours of Continuing Professional Education each year in order to maintain his CPA status. His professional associations include the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (1973), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (1973), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Private Companies Practice Section (1978), Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (1993), and the National Conference of Certified Public Accountants Practitioners (1989). He is currently on the board of the Pennsylvania Institute Of Certified Public Accountants, Philadelphia chapter.
Sandy currently lives in Phoenixville, Pa with his wife Robin and their sons Matt and Brett.
