Online Auction another Huge Success…
On May 28th, The Arc of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Developmental Disabilities Corporation hosted its 3rd Annual online auction at www.charitybuzz.com. Over the three week period, bidders from across the country had the opportunity to bid on some high-end items
such as All-Star Tickets at Yankee Stadium, a Louis Vuitton Bag with a shopping spree to Sak’s 5th Avenue, and an opportunity to see Paula Deen put on a cooking demonstration in Atlantic City. There was even an item where you could have 4 kids attend Donovan McNabb’s Kids Clinic at the Nova Care Complex and have a private Meet N’ Greet with Donovan and his teammates.
The auction closed with a bang on June 18th as bidders rushed to get their final bids in. After all the tallying of the bids were complete, The Arc of Philadelphia/PDDC raised over $25,000.00 which more than doubled last year’s results. The funds raised from this year’s auction will go to the Art and Music therapy programs. Michael Barnes who put together the auction reported, “ we had winning bidders from 13 different states and two winners from Canada. The winners from Canada will be attending the Bruce Springsteen concert at Giants Stadium next month. This auction was a huge success, we must now look ahead to the Golf Outing on September 15th at Bala Golf Club and put on a terrific silent and live auction at our 4th Annual Golf Outing”.
