THE ARC OF PHILADELPHIA VISITS WASHINGTON, DC
The Arc of Philadelphia represented by Bruce Hulick, Executive Director, Donna Bouclier, Director, Cecelia Thompson, Advocate, her son Trevor, and Norman Baker, Governmental Affairs, joined approximately 500 advocates, self-advocates and disability leaders in Washington, DC to participate in the 2008 Disability Policy Seminar, hosted by The Arc, United Cerebral Palsy, AAIDD, AUCD, and NACDD. Leaders from these national organizations and representatives from legislative offices provided participants with policy updates. A full day was spent making visits on the Hill with our Senators, Congress People and their staffers.

A significant amount of information about national public policy issues that are critical for people with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and related developmental or other disabilities was presented. Making "Hill" visits offered us an opportunity to have impact on issues that are vital to the disability community.
Trevor Thompson pictured with his mother Cecelia offered Senator Bob Casey a hug, candy and a thank you for talking taking time to chat!
